The Table
Because our best conversations often take place around food and drink
Because our best conversations often take place around food and drink
The Table is about people getting together to chat and talk about life, faith and what makes us tick. It’s an opportunity to explore and discuss some of life’s big (and small) issues in a relaxed and informal environment. It’s a place where we know that the opposite of faith is not doubt, but that the two go hand in hand.
You may have some faith or none. It really doesn’t matter. But if you are curious, have questions you might like to raise or topics for discussion you want to suggest then you will enjoy coming to The Table. Alternatively, you might just want to listen to what other people think – either way is fine.
Each evening there is great food and friendship, a time of talking and discussion, and an opportunity to simply chill out in the midst of a busy week.
We are always looking to develop the small groups at Hope and we connect everyone who attends the congregation to a small group as a first point of contact for pastoral care and support.
Currently we run:
-Clifton South Table led by Kay Taylor supported by her husband Len.
-Clifton North Table led by Caz Bromley
-Clifton Central Table led by Colin and Ruth Carter
-Wollaton Table led by Jo Hackney
-Youth Table led by Melody Hinds-Mothobi
All the Tables start with food at 7.30pm and we ask, where possible, for everyone to make a contribution of £3.50 towards the cost of the food. If you are a little unsure and would like to talk about The Table before you come along, feel free to email Stephen at stephen@hopechurchnottingham.org
In addition, we run two other small groups.
Women of Hope is led by Carol Ellingham and meets on alternate Mondays at the Hope Centre. The group is built around friendship and teaching. For further information please speak to Carol
The Friday Group meets on alternate Fridays and has a prayer focus whilst still following the teaching used in our small groups. The group is led by Alan White. You can find out more about this small group and prayer at Hope here
