“Everybody is welcome at our Sunday service – it would be great to see you!”
We love Sundays! They are a really important part of what we do at Hope. Our Sunday service is a time of celebration, reflection and worship. It’s an opportunity to connect with God and with others through prayer, readings and listening to each others stories of life and faith.
Our Sunday service starts at 10.30am – here is what to expect if you join us…
Arriving at Hope
If you are using public transport, we’re situated just behind the tram stop on Southchurch Drive, or if you plan on driving, we have a big car park on site where our stewards will get you parked safely.
As you enter the building by the main entrance you will be met by one of our friendly welcome team who will point you in the direction of the main hall – here you can say hello to people before the service. Free refreshments are served.
You can also come in through the side door of the Cafe, which is wheelchair accessible.
Our Sunday service starts at 10.30am and lasts about an hour and a half. We start with a welcome video followed by a session of uplifting praise and worship. This usually lasts until around 11.30am, mixed in with a greeting, notices and prayers. This is dependent on whether we are having communion together or leaving time for ministry – we like to keep things quite informal in terms of timings (except start and finish times).
At around 11.30am, either Stephen or one of our leaders or various special guests will give a talk for the last half hour. This is based on the Bible and talks to our experiences of following Jesus. We aim to make these practical and relevant to every day life.
We have plenty on offer for children before and during the service. Usually we all stay together for the first half hour and then the children go off to Young Hope for an exciting time of teaching, singing and games.
We also have Creche facilities available for the under fives. For ages 12 and over we run Young Hope Plus discussions after worship has finished.
After the Service
There is no need to disappear straight away – we’re a friendly group and many people stop around after the service for a chat, a drink and some light refreshments. Some days we have cake!
We also open up the Hope Cafe space for you to sit in a relaxed atmosphere. A number of our leaders are usually available too if you would like to be prayed for.
Our Sunday service takes place in our main room at
The Hope Centre, Southchurch Drive, Clifton, Nottingham, NG11 8AR
“The Church I see is a Church that is not judgemental, instead it is loving and accepting which makes for situations that can be messy and at times confusing. It is not intimidated by confusion and unfazed by mess. It recognises that dysfunction prevails, that for most people life is lived in the grey areas rather than the black and white.”The Church I See | Stephen Hackney
