CLIFTON NG11 FOODBANK MANAGER
Clifton NG11 Foodbank is offering an exciting and challenging job opportunity to manage and lead a committed group of over 50 volunteers as we seek to alleviate hunger, restore dignity and offer hope to local people in crisis within the NG11 area of Nottingham.
Clifton NG11 Foodbank opened in 2012 and feeds around 1,600 people a year, including over 600 children. It is part of the respected Trussell Trust network of UK foodbanks. Since being established, our service has grown significantly to meet the rising demand and challenges of the area.
Managing and supporting the activity of the foodbank requires significant effort, more than can be sustained on a voluntary basis, so we are moving to appoint a part-time Foodbank Manager to take Clifton NG11 Foodbank forward and meet the challenges ahead.
We are therefore seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and organised Foodbank Manager to co-ordinate our team of volunteers in the collection and distribution of food. The successful applicant will support and uphold the Christian values of The Hope Church and The Trussell Trust.
The role entails the effective day-to-day management of the operation of the Foodbank, ensuring sufficient food stocks are in place to meet client needs together with developing existing and new relationships with referral agencies and with our many retail partners. We are seeking an individual with strong staff management and interpersonal skills with the understanding of how to deal with vulnerable people and work with those who are facing difficult life situations. Great communication skills are also important – both written and oral to be able to engage with the public, to raise funds and to comfortably conduct media interviews which can invariably be for the radio or the press.
We would like the successful applicant to also be passionate about the local community, creating events that will bring the Clifton NG11 Foodbank and the wider community closer together.
