This morning Caz spoke about Jesus’ command to ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:39), particularly focusing on the “as yourself” bit.
“God loves you beyond worthiness and unworthiness, beyond fidelity and infidelity—he loves you in the morning sun and in the evening rain—he loves you when your intellect denies it, your emotions refuse it, when your whole being rejects it. He loves without condition or reservation and loves you this moment as you are and not as you should be.”
– Brennan Manning
“Grace got out of hand the moment the God of the universe hung on a Roman cross and with outstretched hands looked out upon those who had hung him there and declared, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
